The Viruses of Microbes 2026 (VoM 2026) conference, the world’s leading scientific event dedicated to viruses of microorganisms, will take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from July 6 to 10, 2026. Hosted in Europe after recent successful editions across the continent and in Cairns, Australia, VoM 2026 is expected to attract 600–800 international participants from academia, industry, healthcare, and policy.
Under the theme “Revealing Novel Interactions, Innovations, and Applications,” VoM 2026 will showcase cutting-edge research and technological advances across a wide range of disciplines, including:
- Virus–host interactions
- Phage therapy and antimicrobial resistance
- Synthetic virology
- Bioinformatics and computational virology
- Environmental and applied microbiology
- Biotechnology and translational applications
The conference is organised by CzechBio – The Czech Biotech Association, the national organisation representing biotechnology companies, research institutes, and universities in the Czech Republic. The conference will bring together scientists, clinicians, biotech leaders, and policymakers, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and accelerating the translation of microbial virus research into real-world applications.
The conference is held under the scientific stewardship of the International Society for Viruses of Microbes (ISVM), the leading global organisation dedicated to advancing research on viruses infecting bacteria, archaea, and microbial eukaryotes. ISVM ensures the continued high scientific standards and strong community engagement that define the VoM conference series.
