9th World Congress on Targeting Phage Therapy, Spain, 2026

Targeting Phage Therapy 2026

The 9th World Congress on Targeting Phage Therapy has been officially announced and will take place on June 11–12, 2026, in Valencia, Spain. This internationally recognized congress will convene global leaders from academia, clinical practice, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and regulatory bodies to advance the role of phage therapy in modern medicine.

The 8th World Congress was held last year in Berlin, Germany, in 2025.

A Turning Point for Phage Therapy in 2026

The 2026 edition marks a strategic shift for the field, as phage therapy moves beyond experimental and compassionate-use applications toward structured clinical implementation and scalable industrial models. Building on the momentum generated at the Berlin 2025 meeting, the upcoming congress will focus on translating scientific innovation into sustainable healthcare solutions.

Key Strategic Themes

The scientific and strategic agenda for 2026 will center on:

  • Establishing clinical frameworks and standardized treatment pathways for phage therapy
  • Scaling manufacturing, access, and regulatory harmonization across regions
  • Integrating phage therapy with microbiota research, biofilm science, and personalized medicine
  • Developing cross-sector infrastructure, including phage banks, clinical networks, and data integration platforms
  • Attracting pharmaceutical, biotech, and investment partners to accelerate next-generation anti-infective development

Call for Abstracts

Researchers, clinicians, and industry experts are invited to contribute to the scientific program through oral and poster presentations.

  • Oral abstract submission deadline: May 9, 2026
  • Poster abstract submission deadline: May 13, 2026
